How Feline Health Defense Reduces Free Radicals & Oxidative Stress

The concept of defending pet health in order to create optimum health is based on what we can do to prevent the onset of serious health issues, delay the onset of age-related diseases, and extend the number of healthy years we have to enjoy our best friends.2-oxidative-stress

Science tells us that one of the greatest threats to an animal’s health is Oxidative Stress. Oxidative stress is the resultant imbalance between the daily production of free radicals, also known as Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS), and the existing free radical scavenging capacity or antioxidant system capability of the dog and cat.

In order to understand what a free radical is and how it is formed a little background information is needed. Our pet’s bodies are made up of many different types of cells. Cells contain the structures that allow it to perform specific tasks vital to the health and well-being of the animal.

For Kittens

Being introduced into a new home after going through weaning can stress a kitten to the max. A full complement of protective antioxidants would be useful about this time; however, a kitten’s antioxidant system develops slowly and does not reach full strength until the kitten becomes an adult. The additional antioxidant protection created by the special nutrients found in Feline Health Defense is made possible by the activation of cellular survival genes through a transcription factor Nrf2, which can send millions of new antioxidants to the rescue when needed

For Adult Cats

When cats reach about 1 year of age, their natural production of antioxidants reaches its peak and stays at about those levels until they reach their senior years. After that, levels begin to drop off rapidly and, unfortunately, there are many periods throughout adult life where that steady level of antioxidants can be overwhelmed by the number of free radicals present. The additional antioxidants created by the proprietary ingredients in Feline Health Defense can reduce these harmful particles capable of damaging cellular DNA and mitochondria the primary cause of increased ageing and the premature onset of many age-related diseases.

For Senior Cats

Senior life brings on the decline in natural antioxidant production while oxidative stress – the number of free radical attacks a cat undergoes – generally increases. This phenomenon contributes to the rapid aging and organ decline seen during senior years. Protection is just a scoop away with Feline Health Defense, an Nrf2 triggering natural survival system that helps a cat produce millions of extra antioxidants daily.

Helped my 6 month kitten recover from a cold and use it every day and notice an improvement with his confidence, energy and allergies. He also seems to be calmer and sleeps soundly. Thanks for a great supplement for kittens/ cats.

I have been getting Dr Bills Health Support for my now 19 yr old Precious for at least a couple of years now. Just noticed they added some new ingredients for the same price. Thanks Dr Bill I take turmeric, Vit C and Zinc myself so happy Precious is getting the same immune support. She’s a happy American short hair, tuxedo grey.

  3. Jennifer

I’m no expert in pets so i can’t say if it’s medically working for my indoor cat. BUT what i can tell you is that her fur is crazy, insanely soft ever since she’s been using it. I’ve other friends with cats and her fur is unbeatable! She’s been on this for years now. She seems to like the taste and does not regurgitate or have many fur balls.

  4. Aimei

Administering this in combination with Salmon fish oil and Colloidal silver (Not the clear kind but the dark true kind) not only healed my cat of her mouth ulcer and swelling she also stop shedding alot, softer coat, more energy and just doesn’t look sickly in anyway anymore. All this within a 2 to 3 week period and no Vet bills.

I have seven cats in my house. I use that item mix with liquid treat for my cats. There are two cats ate it. I feed to special cat that get FIP disease, I hope that I will keep for her healthy. Turmeric is good digestion for human,so I think it good to cat too.

  6. Janet

Our cats haven’t exhibited any digestive problems yet as they are only a year old, but we have had cats in the past that did. We are are trying to get ahead of it this time by using this product as it contains probiotics and digestive enzymes. An added bonus is that they think it tastes great. I don’t have to worry about trying to convince them to take it!

  7. Robyn

I have an 11 year young feline that was getting too skinny, grumpy and sleeping a lot. At first he and my kitten didn’t much care for these vitamins until I made a gravy out of it and put it on some dry food. Then they would get it constantly. After about 2 weeks I added dry back to their food and they loved it then also, no complaints and the food disappeared very fast. They both had more energy, much more pleasant to each other and their fur looks amazing. I am presently de-worming my 11 year old cat with natural medication and suspect he will get much heavier after that but the vitamin powder did help him gain a bit of weight and keep it on. This is my second purchase and will come back again.

When our newly adopted cat was diagnosed with feline leukemia we knew there was no cure and our only course of treatment would be to keep her immune system up. This is part of her daily supplement routine along with Lysine and Colostrum. She was given two years and it has been almost three without any issues at all with her health. We even had her retested and yes she is still positive, but doing well. This is no cure, but she has had no health problems that cats with FELV usually have. I will continue to use this for all of my cats.

  12. Mercedes

Purr-fect! my cat loves it! definitely will be buying more!

  13. Woodpapr

my cats love this product, it gets mixed in with their morning meal. The one feature I have a hard time with is the serving spoon. it constantly gets lost in the product.

I think this product has been discontinued but I’m not certain. It’s been sold out every time I look. I use this on my FIV/FELV positive cat and he seems to do well. I use this along with another supplement.

  19. George

This additive had the ingredients I required. I was using this for a geriatric old girl with health issues, to give her an extra boost. In general, additives to food are unnecessary if your using a top quality food…wet canned is always best w/ a little free choice dry stuff.

  20. Morah

Have been adding this to the diet of an extremely fussy cat and he is now gaining weight. I highly recommend this for young, I’ll, senior or just plain fussy cats. I will be ordering this as ours starts to be used up.
